Rumble the photo
This is my first experience using photoshop to edit a photo. I did not have any inspiration for the work until i listened to the song " I will crumble" ( by Mike Vogel - The Withering Heights OST ) .Then the idea came to me and i decided to touch my photo.
I know the result looks silly but yet fun to try.
Step1: Touch the photo
Image-> Adjustment-> Level : change the level to have the satisfied brightness and contrast
I also used Curvy for more flexible effect.
Create a new Layers and use brush ( different sizes) to draw the bubbles.
Change the brush Mode to Overlay for the bigger bubbles.
The Mode Screen for smaller/ brighter bubbles.
Choose the colors and Opacity for each bubbles for wanted effect.
Image -> Adjustment -> Photo filter -> choose warmer filter.
Step2: Create rumbled look
File -> New
Tool bar -> Gradient
Uses Reflect or Diamond Gradient only.
Drag the gradient many times from many points
The layer will look like this:
Filter-> Stylize -> Emboss : choose angle and amount till you have the feeling of a crumbled gray paper
(I chose angle 255/ pixel 7/ amount 293)
Use Leves or Curvy to have satisfied outlook.
You will have the result:Change the background layer- your photo to Overlay.
Result:
Step3: Cut the photo and add text
Select all over the photo ( Crt + A )
Use Polygonal Lasso Tool to cut the photo. Notice the crumbled edges so you can make the right selection .
Copy the selected area.
Create the new background layer. (I choose the gray color)
Using Add layer style to Drop shadow.
Add text, also Drop shadow to the text.
Final result:
The aim is to create a rumbled photo. I tried to create the overlay layer with rumbled texture then put it under the photo and cut it out so it looks like a pieces of garbage . The text in the completed image is the lyric of the song that inspired me.
The steps are simply but also interesting for a beginner .
